Project 365: Faux Flowers

Flowers are beautiful wonders. Their colors and soft petals attract insects and birds who help them reproduce. All of this beauty and fragrance also attract me and probably you too.

My favorite flowers are and . I really can’t get enough of them. I love receiving them as surprise gifts. I enjoy buying them for myself and arranging them in vases. I check for them often at farmer’s markets and floral departments when they’re in season. Unfortunately, there are these things called “seasons” that control when and how often we can have access to these flowers. Well, access at affordable prices…

Every now and again, I’ll see a faux flower that looks as close as possible to the real thing and I’ll buy them so I’ll have a year-long look at pretty flowers like the red ranunculus that I keep on my dining room shelf. It’s vibrant and the petals look so delicate and full like the real thing. So these flowers may not be real, but they sure make me smile and draw me in to their beauty all year round, just like the real flowers do in spring and summer.
